Skiing the Troll Peninsula

Skiing down to the fjord's black sand beach.

It's my favorite thing — and it just might become yours too.

We're heading deep into the Troll Peninsula, where 120 inches of new snow has stacked up above the fjord. Ski all the way to the black sand beach. Soak in hot springs. Watch whales take up a surprising amount of space.

If we're lucky, we'll do all of it under the northern lights.

"See you in the Arctic this spring!"

The full picture.

01
The Descent

Ski untracked lines from the ridge all the way to the fjord's black sand beach. There is nothing else like it on the planet.

02
Northern Lights

Spring darkness returns just enough. We'll be ready — skis on, eyes up, lights dancing overhead.

03
Hot Springs

Iceland's geothermal hot springs are the world's best après ski. Sore legs don't stand a chance.

04
Whales

The Troll Peninsula is prime whale territory. They show up uninvited and absolutely steal the show.

05
Untracked Arctic Terrain

Zero lift lines. Zero crowds. 120 inches of snow and fjord-side couloirs as far as you can see.
